SEAMLESS KITCHEN IN CADBORO BAY

This project involved the remodelling of the kitchen in a family home in the Arbutus Ridge area. The clients wanted a bright and contemporary space, in which to cook and entertain for large gatherings, whilst retaining some of the existing characteristics of their home. Of greatest importance was more storage in both the kitchen and the dining area, hiding away their many appliances and crockery, allowing for a streamlined look free of clutter. The new space, with it’s new expansive window, becomes one with the peaceful nature of the backyard.

EXPANSIVE WINDOW

We installed the window, wall to wall and to the counter, allowing for expansive views of the garden beyond. The challenge of meeting the electrical code was met by mounting outlets into the new quartzite counter. Attention to the details in the cabinetry and the counters allowed for precision installation. Basement Bar

A basement bar can have style. It can also serve the purpose of a laundry area (hidden behind closed doors).

Such a thrill to see the transformation of a space. Some structural elements needed to remain, but we managed to embrace them and turn them into a feature in the new space. Thank you to the client for allowing me to add this bar area to their living space.

Arbutus Cove Kitchen

This kitchen renovation reveals the natural beauty of the west coast with views out to the ocean and gardens on three sides. Taking advantage of the views and the light in this Cadboro Bay home, we carved windows into hidden spaces in this bright kitchen. A special cart was made to wheel the hors d’oeuvres onto the deck!

Mid-Century Revival Kitchen

As with many Victoria kitchen renovations, our goal was to add functionality and light to what was once a confined and dark space. Drawing inspiration from the tiled floor, we chose natural and warm finishes that create a spacious yet relaxed feel. This mid-century cramped kitchen was transformed into a spacious and versatile space.

Oak Bay Heritage Farmhouse Kitchen

As kitchen were in the late 1800s dark and hidden away, we opened up this kitchen to the rest of the main floor, adding windows and artisanal tiles to define this space. The Moroccan pendants add an unexpected twist to the design.

Tuscan Style Lakehouse Kitchen

A very eclectic blend of materials created the Tuscan feel to this kitchen. With the help of a stonemason and lights imported from Mexico, we romanced this space into the family friendly space it is today.

Golf Club Kitchen

Working in collaboration with my designer pal Jo Collar in Montreal, we come up with some very creative and classy kitchens. This one is made for entertaining!

Classic Kitchen

Earthy elements make this kitchen the gathering place of this home. The square island is a gathering spot. Careful space planning unearthed a pantry between the existing bedroom and kitchen, allowing for many of the appliances to be hidden away.

Beach Drive Condo Kitchen

With views over the ocean the kitchen walls were opened up onto the dining area. The blue was inspired by the hues of the ocean and were also the client’s favourite colour!

Kilshaw Kitchen

A dark hidden space was brightened up and opened to the dining area. The quartzite countertops bring elegance to the space. The central shelves hide the utilities that could not be moved in this condo unit. The opening is hidden behind.

Farmhouse Kitchen

This kitchen needed to fit in with the charm of the 19th century country farmhouse. The client’s antiques compliment the custom built range hood.

Playful Kitchen

These clients were a delight to work with! The original kitchen felt dark and closed in with its peninsula and dark cabinets. We brought the light in with new windows and French doors to the balcony. The punch of colour on the moveable island and wall add to the fun. The island slides up to the cooktop for prepping or under the counter when needed.
